How to add available features and benefits to a Community Subscription Product

Updated over 2 months ago

With your community subscription products, you have the option to include or exclude "Premium" features. These features might offer subscribing members access to exclusive content, special events, unique groups, and premium menu items.

Available Product Features & Benefits

For each community subscription product, you can choose from a list of available premium features and benefits to include or exclude. They are;

  • Follow Members

  • Comment & Reply (on posts)

  • Create Content

    • Create Livestreams

  • Premium Content

  • Direct Messaging

  • Premium Events

  • Verified Profile

  • Premium Groups

  • Premium Menu Items

  • Other (add your own by using "Displayed Benefits")

Follow Members + Comment & Reply (on posts)

These features are offered to every subscription by default for the simple reason that each community subscription product must offer something to members.

Create Content

Put a paywall on the + (post) button in your applications. Note that this feature will be available to all community subscription product subscribers *until* you make it a premium feature of at least one community subscription product.

Livestreaming

As a subset of "Create Content", you can include or exclude the ability for your members to use your network Livestream creation feature, available in the iOS and Android applications only.

Premium Content

Mark content in your network as "Premium" to provide subscription members with access to exclusive content. Members without a subscription will see posts marked as "Premium" and will encounter a pixelated, unreadable image instead of the actual content. Clicking on these posts will prompt a paywall for non-subscribers.

Direct Messaging

A great way to prompt members to subscribe to a paid subscription is to make direct messaging a premium feature. Note that this is not possible if you have turned off the direct messaging feature in Community Settings > Feature Settings.

Note that this feature will be available to all community subscription product subscribers *until* you make it a premium feature of at least one community subscription product.

Premium Events

Like "Premium Content", Premium Events put a paywall on an event that you mark as "premium". To learn more about how to create an event, read: "Events: Create & Edit".

Verified Profile

Like Twitter (X) and other social networks, sell verification through a subscription. This will mark the member's profile as "Verified" wherever they are represented in the system. Note that you can change the word "Verified" in the system to change the concept of what verified means. For example, changing the word "Verified" in the system to "Supporter".

Premium Groups

Add any number of Premium Groups to a community subscription product. When members subscribe to the community subscription product, they automatically join the group, and the group is then represented in their side menu.

You must first create Groups whose group type is "Premium." To learn more, read "Groups: Create & Edit".

Premium Menu Items

Like premium groups, add as many Premium Menu Items as you like. Premium Menu items will be hidden until the member subscribes to a community subscription product that gives them access to the premium item(s).
