Understanding and Managing Your Child Safety Policy

Updated over a week ago

What Is the Child Safety Policy?

Your Child Safety Policy is a simple way to ensure your network aligns with best practices for creating a safe and welcoming space. It helps set clear expectations for your community and is a requirement for platforms like Apple and Google.

Your Control Over the Policy

Your Honeycommb network comes with a default Child Safety Policy that covers basic needs and aligns with general guidelines. This policy helps ensure compliance with platform requirements while providing a safe experience for your community. You have full control over your Child Safety Policy. Honeycommb provides a default template that meets general guidelines, but you can adjust it to fit your network’s needs. This allows you to set age restrictions, content guidelines, and reporting options that work best for your community.

How to Update Your Policy

To update your Child Safety Policy, log in to your Honeycommb Control Center, navigate to 'Terms and Policies' in the Community Settings, and click the '+ New Child Safety Policy' button to create a new policy. This will not create the need for existing members to agree to this policy. This policy can be updated at will.
