Use manual ordering to arrange a group's posts in a sequence that makes sense for its content. This is useful for resource libraries, ordered lessons, and collections of reference material.
How post order works
By default, a Group's "Posts" are ordered by date and time, showing newer posts before older posts. Once you manually move a post, the group switches to manual order. You can then arrange the sequence yourself or reset it to post date order.
Pinned posts are shown at the top of the group. Pinning highlights selected content; manual ordering lets you organize the broader sequence of posts.
Arrange posts manually
In Control Center, open Groups.
Select the group you want to organize.
Open the group's Posts area in Control Center.
Use a post's drag handle to move it to a new position. You can also use its up or down arrow controls.
Continue moving posts into the sequence you want members to see.
Check the manual sort indicator above the posts table, then review the group in the member application.
Moving a post activates manual order. For a learning library, you might place an introduction first, followed by the lessons in sequence and reference materials at the end.
Reset to post date order
Open the same group's Posts area in Control Center.
Find the manual sort indicator above the posts table.
Select the X control.
Choose Reset order to post date.
Review the group in the member application.
The group returns to post date order. Moving a post again switches it back to manual order.
Troubleshooting
Posts are no longer arranged by date. Check whether manual order is active. Reset to post date order if you want newer posts to appear first.
A highlighted post appears above other content. Check whether it is pinned. Pinned posts are shown at the top of the group.
The member application still shows the old order. Refresh the group on web or leave and reopen it on mobile.
