Groups: Events

Find live, upcoming, and past group events, and make the Events tab visible.

The Events tab brings a group's events into the group itself. Members can switch between live and upcoming events and past events on web, iOS, and Android.

When creating a new group, the Events tab in on by default. Easily hide the tab by editing the group > Menu Items > and clicking the eye icon to hide the menu item.

Find a group's events

  1. Open the group in your community.

  2. Select Events in the group navigation (the tab may have been renamed).

  3. Choose the view for live and upcoming events or the view for past events.

  4. Select an event to view its details.

The Events tab displays events associated with that group. Event access depends on the group's type and the member's access to the group.

Make Events visible in a group

As a network owner or community admin:

  1. In Control Center, open Groups and select the group.

  2. Choose Edit Group → Menu Items.

  3. Find Events and make sure it is visible.

  4. Adjust its name or position if needed.

  5. Review the group navigation in the member application.

Events is a native group destination, alongside Posts, Chat, and Members.

Associate an event with a group

When creating an event in the Control Center inside the Group's area (Groups > Group > Events - "+ Event"), the event will automatically be associated to the group and will display inside of it in the member applications.

When creating an event in Control Center "Events" area, use the Group Event setting to associate the event with the intended group. The existing event creation guide covers this setting and the steps to create and publish the event:

Troubleshooting

I cannot see an Events tab. A community admin may have hidden or renamed it. Admins can check Edit Group → Menu Items.

I cannot find an event. Check both the live/upcoming and past views. Admins should also confirm that the event is associated with the correct group and has been published.

A member cannot access an event. Review the group's access rules and the member's group access. See Group Type Definitions.
