Troubleshooting Your .JSON Key

Having issues with your .JSON Key? The most common problem with updating your app is when Honeycommb doesn't have the right permissions within your Google Play account. Here are some items to check for.

1. Permissions Aren't Granted

After creating a Service Account for Honeycommb, Open the Google Play Console and navigate to Settings -> API access. Under Service Accounts, make sure the honeycommb@api-xxxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com service account has permissions granted. If you see GRANT ACCESS next to it, click.

Make sure the role of Administrator is granted with no expiry date. Click Add User

2. Wrong Permissions Granted

After creating a Service Account for Honeycommb, Open the Google Play Console and navigate to Settings -> API access. Under Service Accounts, if you see View permissions next to the honeycommb@api-xxxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com service account, click it

Next to the Honeycommb service account, click the Settings icon

If you see a role other than Administrator, click the drop down and change it.

Make sure the role is Administrator and the permissions boxes look like the below example. Click Save
