Troubleshooting Your .JSON Key

Having issues with your .JSON Key? The most common problem with updating your app is when Honeycommb doesn't have the right permissions within your Google Play account. Here are some items to check for.

1. Permissions Aren't Granted

After creating a Service Account for Honeycommb, Open the Google Play Console and navigate to Settings -> API access. Under Service Accounts, make sure the honeycommb@api-xxxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com service account has permissions granted. If you see GRANT ACCESS next to it, click.

Make sure Admin (all permissions) is selected with no expiry date. Click Invite user

2. Wrong Permissions Granted

After creating a Service Account for Honeycommb, Open the Google Play Console and navigate to Settings -> API access. Under Service Accounts, if you see View access next to the honeycommb@api-xxxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com service account, click it

Under Account permissions, make sure that Admin (all permissions) is selected and that the expiry date checkbox is not checked. Click Save changes
